Steinberg UR22C USB Audio Interface Overview

The Steinberg UR22C 2×2 USB Gen 3.1 Audio Interface is designed to give you impeccable sound recording on the go. Make use of its 32-bit converters for a wide dynamic range, and record at sample rates of up to 192 kHz for capturing detailed sonic nuances. Whether you are recording your self at the home studio or want to track high-quality audio on the road, the UR22C will come in handy for anyone who wishes to record music.

The Steinberg UR22C interface offers two combo XLR-1/4″ inputs, one of which can accept Hi-Z instruments, so you can record your basses and guitars direct, with fine degrees of resolution. Connect your monitors (available separately) via two 1/4″ TRS jacks in the back of the unit, or make use of the 1/4″ headphone output on the front panel to monitor privately. While you’re recording, make use of the Mix knob to ensure that you hear your sound free of latency. Connect your favorite MIDI devices over the 5-pin DIN MIDI I/O jacks.

The Steinberg UR22C interface can communicate over a USB GEN 3.1 connection for seamless integration with Mac and Windows computers. The port is also backwards compatible for USB 2.0. Even iOS devices running iOS 10 or later are supported, so you can record straight to your iPad.

If broadcasting DJ sets, lessons, or twitch streams with high resolution is something that piques your fancy, you’ll be excited for the Loopback function. This merges your recording channels with playback audio from your DAW, so you can broadcast it all at once.

Multiple effects are included in Steinberg UR22C, such as REV-X reverb and guitar amplifier emulations. For home recording and production, Cubasis LE and Cubase AI are included, as is a software, zero-latency monitoring matrix called dspMixFx. The interface is powered over USB, though you can use a separately available 5V DC adapter.
