MOTU 828 Overview
The completely redesigned MOTU 828 USB-C Audio Interface is geared toward professional musicians, producers, and podcasters. It connects to a Mac, Windows, or iOS device via blazing-fast 5 Gbps USB 3.1 with low-latency high-performance drivers, providing 60 total channels of I/O and 24-channel mixing with onboard effects processing, such as compression, reverb, and 4-band EQ. The 828 has a redesigned front panel with high-resolution metering and an enhanced user interface.
Superb analog audio quality
Famous ESS Sabre32TM DAC technology offers exceptionally low harmonic distortion and a dynamic range of 125 dB. Decades of engineering experience in audio interface technologies power analog performance.
Universal connectivity for Mac, PC and iOS
Utilize 5 Gbps USB 3 (compatible with USB 2) to connect to your Mac, PC, or iOS device. It supports up to 60 audio channels (28 in and 32 out). With class-compliant firmware, there is no need for a driver and you can simply plug and play with Mac or iOS hosts. With any audio app, industry-standard high-performance drivers are compatible. Use USB-C or a normal camera connection kit (Lightning adapter) to connect directly to your iPad.
60 simultaneous audio channels
All of your studio equipment, such as optical expanders, MIDI devices, drum machines, guitars, synths, keyboards, microphones, and outboard processors, should be connected. There are 32 outputs and 28 inputs available at the same time.
Ultra-low latency performance
For Mac and PC, optimized drivers offer legendary, ultra-low latency performance. When used with a high-performance DAW like Digital Performer, the 828 can achieve an incredible round trip latency (RTL) of less than 2 ms (milliseconds) over USB (2 or 3) at 96 kHz and 32 samples per host buffer.
Transparent mic channels and hi-Z guitar inputs
Experience your recorded content with -113 dB THD+N, 115 dB dynamic range, and -129 dBu EIN performance to capture it in its purest, most natural form. Preamp gain, a pad, 48V phantom power, and remote control functionality from your PC or iOS device are available for every mic channel. A 1/4-inch high-impedance TS guitar input for DI tracking and reamping is alternately provided by each combo jack.
