Behringer KM1700 Overview
The Behringer KM1700 is a stereo power amplifier that can deliver up to 800W per channel into four ohms and 1700W into eight ohms in mono bridge mode, making it perfect for small clubs, portable PA systems, and places of worship. This amp provides amazing value with its extensive safeguards and ATR technology for more punch and clarity.
Both channels include switchable limiters, so you never have to be concerned about abrupt peaks harming your equipment or the hearing of your audience. Clean, dependable amplification power is provided by the linear, toroidal power supply. A variety of I/O choices are available, such as speakON and binding post speaker outputs, balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4″ TRS inputs. This 2 RU power amp also fits neatly into any standard equipment rack thanks to its sturdy all-steel chassis and integrated rack support.
Rail Tracking for Reliability
Unlike typical power amps, which run comparatively continuously, the KM1700 has rail tracking, which allows it to modulate the power supply rails using only the input signal’s peaks. Because of its exceptional performance and efficiency, this technology has completely changed the designs of professional audio amplifiers.
Useful Control Features
Every KM1700 has a variety of choices on the rear panel to help you maximize your amplifier’s performance. In order to prevent distortion, the integrated Clip Limiter temporarily lowers the input level when it detects that the amplifier is being driven into clipping. It is the best method to guarantee flawless sound at all times because it all takes place in a matter of microseconds.
Accelerated Transient Response Technology
It takes huge pulses of energy (current and voltage) to propel a woofer cone fast enough to match a bass beat. That’s called ATR or Accelerated Transient Response and it’s the holy grail of amp designers.
