Yamaha HS3 Overview
The Yamaha HS3 Studio Monitors, which have two speakers with a single active that drives both speakers and two-way nearfield monitors with a precise frequency response, are a refinement of the renowned HS series speakers in a more compact, creator-friendly design. The HS3 monitors are excellent for applications like video editing and music production since they are made to provide creatives with minimal space with uncompromised audio quality.
Compact Yet Loud
A 26W amplifier powers the HS3’s 3.5″ cone woofers and 0.75 “dome tweeters. While volume control is provided on the front panel, the back panel incorporates 3-way room correction trim adjustments for boosting low frequencies and attenuating or boosting high frequencies, allowing you to easily tune your speakers for your particular acoustic situation. Balanced and unbalanced connection choices are offered by the XLR-1/4” combination, stereo 3.5mm, and stereo RCA inputs. A front-panel 3.5mm headphone output is also provided, allowing you to rapidly switch between monitors and headphones for in-room recording or mixing reference. Eight antislip pads, a stereo 3.5mm to RCA connection, and a speaker cord are included with the HS3 studio monitors.
True to the Original
The HS3 builds on the expertise and design ethos of earlier Yamaha studio monitors. The speakers are the result of exhaustive efforts to produce the best possible product. A high-performance class-D amplifier, a very sturdy MDF cabinet, and small-sized woofers and soft dome tweeters that faithfully reproduce the source’s sound are among the carefully chosen components.
The incredibly efficient Class-D amp allows the HS3 to be so small in size. Yamaha has been able to lower the weight of the speakers and streamline the wire connections by using a single amp for two speakers. Even in a compact bedroom studio, they occupy minimal space and are portable.
