Yamaha YCM705

Now it’s easier than ever for artists and creators who want to bring the full excitement and emotional impact of their musical performances to the rest of the world. The Yamaha YCM705 condenser microphone is ideal for music production, live streaming, and video content recording at home. Starting with a 1-inch large-diaphragm condenser capsule for accurately capturing even the most delicate sonic nuances, it has a comprehensive variety of convenient sound control functions, including pad switches and low-cut filters, to take your recording expression to the next level. With the YCM705, your best performance starts here.

Superb recording performance for capturing the expression just as is

At the heart of the Yamaha YCM705 is a custom-designed 1-inch large-diaphragm condenser capsule with a gold-sputtered diaphragm. The dual-diaphragm capsule enhances the acoustic response characteristics, letting you fully and realistically capture the sound without losing the delicate breathy sounds in emotional vocals or the subtle finger noises in playing stringed instruments. Moreover, since the directivity is cardioid, it is simple to capture the desired sound and easily obtain professional-level results in your recordings. This helps deliver “True Sound” for accurately expressing and reproducing the emotions that musicians and producers put into the sound—just as is.

Pad switch for enormously flexible recording options

The Yamaha YCM705 has a built-in pad switch, for decreasing the input signal in three steps: OFF, -10 dB, and -20 dB. Set the switch depending on the recording target, and this versatile mic lets you record not only vocals and acoustic guitars, but also various high-SPL instruments with powerful transients, such as drums, wind or brass instruments and pianos.

Convenient low-cut filter gets the sound right even before the mix

Also built into the Yamaha YCM705 is a low-cut filter that instantly enables clearer recording at the source, by reducing unwanted environmental sounds, such as the rumbling of an air conditioner, or other low-end noises. When recording several instruments individually to different tracks, this additionally helps to eliminate or tweak unwanted, clashing low-frequency bands, making the final mixing process easier.

Design inspired by fine musical instruments

Like others in the YDM Series, the Yamaha YCM705has been stylishly designed to evoke the graceful curves of wind instruments. As sturdy as it is beautiful, the rugged metal body sports a matte surface finish. The overall design, which has been finished with attention to detail, expresses its high basic functionality and profound potential as a recording tool.

Full range of accessories for enhancing quality

Accessories include a shock mount that reduces vibrations transmitted from the microphone stand and a pop filter that prevents plosives that occur during vocal recording, yet without compromising sound quality. Simply obtaining the Yamaha YCM705 provides all the essentials for sound recording and enhancing the quality of your content.
