Zoom PodTrak P8 Overview
The Zoom PodTrak P8 is a portable multitrack podcast recorder designed specifically for recording, editing, and producing professional multi-person podcasts on-the-go without the need for a computer. Its large full-color LCD touchscreen makes it easy to record up to six microphones at once, manage two echo-free remote call-ins at once, trigger sound samples, and provide separate headphone feeds for each of your guests.
Tactical Versatility
The PodTrak P8 is well prepared to assist you in recording, streaming, and exporting high-quality audio for intricate panel podcasts. This includes its sophisticated audio processing and editing functions as well as its easy, tactile controls. With its dynamic and condenser microphones, adaptable sound pads, computer or smartphone call-in capabilities, and separate headphone outputs, the PodTrak P8 is a podcast production station that can handle all of your needs.
Center Piece Of Production
The PodTrak P8 is an incredibly potent all-in-one podcasting solution thanks to extra features like multiple powering options, an integrated mix-minus function to prevent echo and feedback for remote guests, per-channel tone controls, compression/de-essing, limiters, low-cut filters, and noise reduction—all excellent tools for producing professional-sounding tracks.
PodTrack P8 vs P4
What distinguishes the larger PodTrak P8 from the P4? The P8 is designed to manage podcasts with even more participants and complexity. More mic preamps, speaker and headphone outputs, sound pads, signal enhancement options, fluid editing features, and a sizable 4.3″ full-color touchscreen providing easy access to all adjustable parameters are all included in the P8. Additionally, you can edit and export entire podcasts using the P8 without ever having to touch a computer.
Six High-Gain Mic Inputs
The six mic preamps on the PodTrak P8 are capable of handling dynamic microphones, whether you use them for announcer-style recordings (like the Zoom ZDM-1, which is sold separately) or prefer the clean, condenser sound. Both have a balanced XLR input connector, adjustable +48V phantom power, and a gain of up to 70 dB, which is plenty of boost to guarantee the best possible recording levels with a variety of microphones, including the legendary Shure SM7B.
