M-Audio Hammer 88 Keyboard Controller

The M-Audio Hammer 88 is an 88-key USB/MIDI keyboard controller made to give musicians, composers, and programmers on stage or in the studio a realistic piano-style feel and control over virtual instruments. M-Audio Hammer 88 has 88 fully weighted, velocity-sensitive, hammer-action keys that mimic the action of playing on a grand piano. The music rest that comes with the set is useful for holding a phone or tablet or for reading sheet music.

Mullitple I/O To Play With

One can create layers, splits, and single-key chords by dividing the keyboard into multiple zones. There are distinct 1/4″ inputs for expression, soft, and sustain pedals. To add glissando and portamento effects, use the pitch bend and mod wheels. Simple level adjustment is made possible by the dedicated volume control. With the assignable Plus/Minus buttons, you can choose between octaves, programs, effects, and more.

Seamless Control

Control your favorite virtual instruments via USB, or connect the MIDI output to an external sound module or drum machine. The Hammer 88 supports plug-and-play compatibility on Mac OS X and Windows, and is USB-powered.

With the responsiveness of a conventional grand piano, the 88 velocity-sensitive, fully weighted, hammer-action keys can capture your performance’s subtleties with accuracy. Mix your favorite virtual instruments’ sonic prowess with the timeless feel of a piano.

Expression

Add portamento and glissando effects, or map the Mod wheel to any assignable parameter in your virtual instrument, using a unity-locking pitch wheel and a separate modulation wheel. You can quickly adjust the level of intensity in your performance using the dedicated Master Volume Fader, or you can MIDI map this to any compatible parameter in your DAW or virtual instrument library for more extensive, manual control. To choose different programs, effects, MMC messages, jump between octaves, and more, use the assignable Up and Down buttons.

Use USB to control virtual instruments in your preferred DAW. Send all MIDI data to any peripheral device that is compatible, such as hardware synthesizers, sound modules, and drum machines, by using the 5-pin MIDI output.

With its hassle-free setup that allows you to concentrate on your creativity, the Hammer 88 is powered by USB, compliant with class standards, and supports USB-MIDI connectivity. Plug-and-play connectivity is supported on both Windows and Mac OS X; drivers are not needed. With the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit (separately sold), Hammer 88 users can seamlessly connect to their iPads and other iOS devices to compose using audio apps.
