Akai MPK Mini MK3  Overview

The ultracompact keyboard controller, the Akai MPK Mini MK3 Grey, is styled with a sleek grey finish and is intended for desktop producers and touring musicians. In several important aspects, it is an improvement over the previous version.

Its revised keybed gives it a more substantial feel, to start. Vital input on DAW mode selection, velocity level, CC, and other crucial parameters is provided by a new OLED display. The eight touchpads feel familiar yet innovative at the same time because this model incorporates the pads from the company’s flagship Midi Controller MPC range.

The Best In The Industry

The Akai Pro MPK Mini MK3 Grey still has 25 velocity-sensitive synth-action tiny keys, 8 assignable Q-Link knobs, and a 4-way thumbstick for adjusting pitch and modulation. The MPK Mini’s variety of hardware controllers enable recording, composition, and performance anytime and anywhere an idea arises.

For expressive playing and recording, there’s an integrated sustain pedal input (pedal not included). The integrated arpeggiator facilitates the creation of complex melodic lines with configurable resolution, range, and modes. Additionally, users can use technology from Akai Professional’s MPC workstation series with MPC Note Repeat and Full Level. You don’t need to download any drivers for this class compliant device because it has a USB Type-B connector. Just connect the controller to your computer via USB, and you’re ready to go.

Best Bundled Plugins and Daws

For instantaneous music composition, production software and virtual instruments are provided. This includes a DAW built on the MPC workflow, along with software such as MPC Beats, AIR Hybrid, Mini Grand, Velvet, and several MPC Expansion packs. Lastly, a variety of sound options are included with the unit to help your productions sound instantly professional. These consist of MSX Sound Design, F9 Instruments, Sample Tools by Cr2, Decap, and more.
