Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation HD Overview
The Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation HD Live Production Switcher is a powerful live event HD switching system that supports up to 10 separate 3G/HD-SDI inputs integrated within a 1 RU chassis. The switcher connects to a variety of cameras and sources by supporting both 3G-SDI and HD-SDI signals. Program output can be sent by six 3G-SDI BNC outputs or a webcam output via USB-C. The switcher also features a multiview output that may display program output, keyed video, graphics, and still images from the media pool in addition to inputs. This multiview output can have up to 16 routable windows. A built-in Fairlight audio mixer that can handle up to 28 channels of audio is connected to each input.
New And Updated Features From Previous Atem Television Studio
Each input on the switcher has a format converter, frame rate converter, and frame synchronizer in addition to a reference video input. This enables you to combine different cameras, formats, non-genlock cameras, and computer-generated video input. Keyers and effects both upstream and downstream are supported. There is no need for rendering because everything is done live and in real time. The switcher may be operated by downloading control software, via the included front panel, or by using supplementary Blackmagic ATEM panels.
Built-In DVE
ATEM Constellation features one independent DVE that lets you reposition graphics and create picture-in-picture compositions. You get amazing quality, and the DVE supports position, resize, and scale, all in real time. The DVE lets you create professional picture-in-picture effects with customizable 3D borders, shadows, and lighting.
Multiview
Configurable to 16, 13, 10, 7, or 4 up view, it includes monitoring of program, preview, inputs, media players, DSK, and clean feed with optional labels and audio meters.
Media Pool
The built-in media pool stores broadcast-quality RGBA graphics and animations that can be played back instantly by two or four media players. Media players simply appear as additional input sources on the ATEM Constellation HD, so you don’t have to use extra SDI inputs for graphics. The built-in media pool holds up to 20 stills and 200 frame animations. You can easily manage all your media using the included ATEM Software Control or download directly from Photoshop using the ATEM Photoshop plug-in.
