Sony C-100 Condenser Microphone Overview
The Sony C-100 condenser microphone is incredibly intelligently designed. It captures a vast range of frequencies from 20 Hz to 50 kHz with transparent, uncolored accuracy by using two capsules in a two-way setup. The Sony C-100 compatible Hi-Res Audio standards have a great tool for detailed recording of vocalists and full-spectrum instrument sounds: the secondary 0.7″ electret condenser capsule captures frequencies from 25 kHz to 50 kHz, while the 1″ genuine condenser capsule handles frequencies from 20 Hz to 25 kHz.
Sony At Best
The Sony C-100 microphone features three selectable polar patterns— cardioid, figure-8, and omnidirectional—to allow great versatility in the studio. Onboard switches are provided for a low-cut filter (helps control rumble and proximity effect) and a -10 dB pad (raises the maximum SPL to accommodate louder signals without distorting). The C-100 borrows the noise elimination structure used in the legendary C-800G to prevent acoustic vibration and yield low noise. Additional isolation from vibration is provided by the included shockmount. The mic also comes with a windscreen, mic stand adapter, and carrying case.
Pristine Sound
Two-way diaphragm structure realizes both broad high range and resonant mid-low range and gives great vocal presence
Wide Frequency Range
Broad frequency response (20 Hz to 50 kHz) to ensure superb sound reproduction quality for High-Resolution Audio
Noise cancellation Construction
Two-part metallic body structure succeeded from C-800G microphone prevents acoustic vibration, resulting in low noise and clear sound
Three Polar Patterns
Switchable cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 polar patterns for various recording applications
Low Cut Filter
Low-cut filter switch helps eliminate low-frequency noise and proximity effect
Pad Switch
-10 dB pad switch provides added headroom and minimizes distortion caused by transient peaks
