RODE NTK Overview
Large-diaphragm condenser microphones with warm tones are produced by the Class-A valve circuitry used in the Rode NTK Valve Condenser Microphone. The RODE NTK, which has a cardioid polar pattern, is intended for recording vocals and other instruments and offers the same sonic character as more expensive tube microphones. The capsule has a wide frequency response and transparent signal reproduction thanks to its mylar dual-diaphragm that is sputtered in gold.
The heart of the NTK’s circuitry is the hand-selected and graded 6922 twin-triode valve, which offers analog “warmth” and presence that satisfy even the pickiest engineers. The microphone uses a specially designed Mu-metal transformer that Jensen Transformers created. At high gain levels, the output is noise-free and quiet in the end. The NTK comes with a different power source.
