Zoom H1n-VP Overview
With the Zoom H1n-VP, producers have even more options and flexibility as they effortlessly combine the black H1n recorder with the SPH-1n accessory pack. This pack adds a foam windscreen, micro USB cable, cushioned shell case, and AD-17 power adapter to the H1n stereo audio recorder.
Ready to Go Where You Go
The Zoom H1n-VP portable recorder is a great starting point for those interested in audio for film and sound design. It is perfect for solo musicians and podcasters, and it has an integrated stereo microphone that allows you to effortlessly record two tracks of high-quality audio in the palm of your hand. The H1n’s ability to record clear, distortion-free speech will be appreciated by filmmakers and podcast producers, while songwriters will value the limitless overdubbing that allows them to compose compositions layer by layer.
Simple Layout of Common Controls
- The layout of the H1n’s front panel is designed to provide easy access to the most frequently used controls: a large gain knob (labeled clearly from 0 to 10) and one-touch buttons for the low-cut filter, limiter, and auto-level functions.
- Transport buttons are used for recording, play/pause, stop, back, and forward operations. Of course, by automatically adjusting the input level based on the input signal, the optional Auto Level mode speeds up setup even further.
Onboard Stereo Microphone
Record in true stereo without external microphones; the H1n is outfitted with an onboard stereo microphone that provides clear, phase-accurate capture. The capsules are arranged in a classic 90° X/Y configuration for a tight stereo image. With nothing more than the H1n, you’re set to record speech, practice sessions, concerts, or ambient and environmental sounds—even intensely loud ones up to 120 dB.
The included foam windscreen helps to reduce noise from indoor air currents while also cutting down on breath and plosive noises from talent.
