Marantz Professional MPM-1000
Marantz MPM-1000 Condenser Microphone brings the essence of traditional studio condenser microphones to a price class that’s attractive to first-time songwriters, novice producers, and musicians who are just starting to record their instruments. Since it comes with a shock mount, tabletop tripod stand, and mic cable, the Marantz MPM-1000 Condenser Microphone offers a lot for a small investment.
Featuring an aluminum-plated, 0.7″-diameter, large-diaphragm condenser capsule, the Marantz MPM-1000 Condenser Microphone is able to capture audio with a strong output level and a smooth sound, making it capable for speech, vocals, and instruments such as acoustic guitar. The cardioid polar pattern yields good isolation from room noise, especially when positioned close to the sound source. Like most studio condenser mics, the Marantz MPM-1000 Condenser Microphone is intended to connect to the XLR mic input of any mixer, mic preamp, or audio interface that can supply phantom power.
Versatile Applications
With its high sensitivity and smooth frequency response, the Marantz MPM-1000 Condenser Microphone offers a strong output signal and versatile tone that’s well suited for speech, vocals, and plenty of acoustic instruments.
Great for Home Recording and Personal Studios
Since the MPM-1000 utilizes a cardioid polar pattern, it can effectively reject sound behind the mic, such as computer noise and room echo, while primarily picking up sound in front of it as well as some from the sides.
Connects to Preamps with Phantom Power
Like many studio condenser microphones, the MPM-1000 runs on 48V phantom power, though it can still operate when receiving as little as 9V phantom power. This and its XLR output connector mean that it should be connected to a mic preamp, an audio interface, or a mixer equipped with an XLR mic input and phantom power.
Easy Mounting
Thanks to the included shockmount, the MPM-1000 can be isolated from vibration noise and floor-borne rumble. Attach it to the supplied tabletop tripod or place it on a taller mic stand for more flexible positioning in the studio.
Bundled Accessories
The mic comes with a foam windscreen, which helps to minimize breathing sounds and wind noise from fans. It also includes an XLR microphone cable, so you can connect the mic to an available XLR mic input.
