Focusrite Vocaster DM14v Overview

The Focusrite Vocaster DM14v is an  XLR broadcast dynamic microphone designed for gaming, podcasting, and streaming that is optimized to capture a rich vocal tone that engages your audience. With its dynamic capsule and cardioid pickup pattern, the mic lets you hear more of your speech and less of the background noise from your room.

No White Noise

Pops and other white noises are lessened by the integrated windshield, and rumble-free recording is guaranteed by the internal shockmount. When mounting a microphone on a boom arm, a yoke mount enables exact positioning of the microphone. An XLR cable is included with the Vocaster DM14v so you can connect it to a mixer or audio interface. The dynamic capsule is convenient in that it doesn’t need phantom power or a battery.

Optimized for Podcasting and Streaming

• The DM14v offers a voice-centered 50 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response, shaving off extreme high frequencies and effectively mitigating unnecessary lows that can muddy up the sound.

• The DM14v is an excellent fit for recording in untreated home and project studios without a lot of isolation because the less-sensitive dynamic capsule picks up fewer unwanted sounds and room reflections from further away, and more of the person speaking closely into the mic.

• In addition, the cardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture in the area in front of the capsule, picking up less sound from the rear and sides.
